Introducing Hair Language

Hey!
It's ya girl Kendra here, and I'm SO excited that I finally hit "send" on our very first Hair Language newsletter! If we haven't met yet, grab your favorite drink and let's get comfortable. This newsletter is about creating that safe space where we can be authentic while talking about what matters most... our CROWNS.
Think about it – how many times have you walked into a room and immediately felt the energy shift because your hair was doing exactly what it was supposed to do? Or conversely, how many times have you felt off your game because your hair just wasn't cooperating? That's not vanity, that's hair language at work.
FROM KENLICCLIQ TO HAIR LANGUAGE
Some of y'all have been with me since the Kenlicliq days, and I see you! While Kenlicliq was about the hair, Hair Language is about US – the community, the connections, the conversations that happen beyond just extensions.
Welcome to Hair Language, where quality meets community.
This evolution happened naturally as I realized we weren't just talking about hair care, we were talking about identity, confidence, and the way we navigate the world. Kenlicliq gave you the tools, but Hair Language gives you the understanding of why those tools matter so much. It's the difference between knowing how to install a wig and understanding why that fresh install makes you feel like you can conquer the world on Monday morning.
In our newsletters you can expect:
- Honest Product Reviews
- Industry Insights
- Relatable Advice
But here's what makes Hair Language different: we're not just reviewing products in isolation. We're talking about how that edge control performs during your morning presentation, how that leave-in conditioner holds up during your workout, and why that particular shade of hair color makes you feel like the main character in your own story.
OUR HAIR, OUR STORY
Ya'll know that feeling when you switch up your hair and suddenly you're walking differently?
There's a little extra switch in your step at the office? That promotion you've been eyeing suddenly feels within reach because your confidence is THROUGH. THE. ROOF.
That's what I call hair language, the unspoken power our hair holds. Sometimes it's the armor we put on to face a world that wasn't built for us. Sometimes it's the expression of joy we can't put into words.
Our hair has ALWAYS been political, spiritual, and personal.
This isn't just about looking good – though honey, we always do that. It's about the internal shift that happens when your external presentation aligns with how you see yourself. It's about walking into spaces knowing that your crown is secure, literally and figuratively. When you feel good about your hair, you carry yourself differently. You speak up in meetings, you flirt a little harder, you take up space unapologetically.
And let's be real – our hair journey is layered with history. Every twist-out is connected to our ancestors who braided messages into hair. Every wash day is a ritual of self-care that connects us to generations of women who understood that caring for our hair was caring for ourselves. When we embrace our hair language, we're not just styling – we're honoring a legacy.
FROM ME, TO YOU
There’s a couple different voiceless hair language that I’ve come to understand.
Is it the movement in your neck when you get a bob.
Is it the posture change the cross your leg movement when your hair makes you feel confident.
Does the attitude change when you get up from the Salon chair?
Is it 100 selfies you take right after a salon service.
Is it that moment when you rush to the restroom and take a good old bathroom pic.
Is it the hair flip down the Publix aisle, or the pep in your step.
Is it a need for a happy hour moment with your girlfriend to show off your new look, or the moment you feel like you can read anybody that try you.
Hair language can turn into movement and gestures, a voiceless language that speaks many words.
Your hair language is as unique as your fingerprint, and recognizing it is the first step to mastering it. Whether you're a minimalist who feels most confident with a sleek bun or someone who switches styles weekly because variety is your love language – both are valid expressions of who you are.
This is just the beginning of our Hair Language journey together. In this space, we celebrate every texture, every style choice, and every moment when your hair helps you speak your truth without saying a word.
xo,
Kendra
